Man-overboard detection and crew-location system
In developmentMMT Sentinel is being developed to give operators real-time awareness of crew aboard a vessel and help them recognize a potential man-overboard event. Real-time crew-location has been demonstrated through vessel testing and controlled validation.
The problem
A man-overboard event can happen without anyone seeing it, especially during active operations, in poor visibility, in noise, or with reduced staffing. Sentinel is being developed to provide an additional source of awareness on board when it matters most.
Who it's for
The first development effort is focused on commercial fishing vessels and their crews. Future versions may be adapted for recreational boats, yachts, workboats, cargo vessels, and other maritime operations.

Testing so far
Sentinel has progressed from bench testing through an initial field test aboard a working commercial fishing vessel and a formal controlled validation session. A subsequent improvement was independently validated to substantially improve performance.
Availability
Sentinel is a research and development prototype. It is not available for purchase, and no commercial release date has been announced.
